Would nail polish fade on acrylic nails if i go swimming?

Usually when i go swimming, the nail polish, on my natural nails, fades a bit because of the chlorine. I was wondering if this was the same with acrylic nails? Would the nail polish fade in the same way?Would nail polish fade on acrylic nails if i go swimming?
If you have a high quality top coat it should not fade at all it should be fade resistant and an uv protectant.
