How do you take acrylic nails off?

i know that you can get them taken off for you professionally but is there anyway to take them off yourself? i have the whole acrylic nail on, not just the tips

thanks!=]How do you take acrylic nails off?
Don't rip them off! That is so damaging!

Only pure acetone will work. Not hot water, not vinegar, not polish remover.

Pour some acetone in a glass bowl and soak the nails. You will have to do one hand at a time. Soak for about 20 minutes then without removing your nails from the acetone, use an orangewood stick or cuticle pusher to scrape off the softened product. Soak and scrape until it's all off.

If the acrylics have a gel overlay you will need to file the nail to break that seal otherwise no amount of soaking in acetone will work.

Afterwards, you can use a very fine grit buffing block to smooth out your nails. How do you take acrylic nails off?
First use finger nail clippers to trim away whatever part of the nails stick out over the end of your fingers. Then take a nail file and rub it over the tops of the acrylic nails. This helps get that topcoat off and it creates little cracks in the acrylic that makes it weak. Then soak the nails in polish remover (make sure it has acetone in it) for a long time. I usually pop in a movie and try to soak my nails as much as I can during the movie. Then use something hard like the tip of the metal nail file that comes with most fingernail clippers to push the acrylic off. Make sure you start at the cuticle because you don't want to slip and jam the the file into your finger. Once you get all the acrylic off make sure you apply generous amounts of lotion to your fingers and nails over the next couple days.
you can buy acrylic nail remover. they're in a tub and you dip your fingers in and they come off.

other wise use acetone/ acetone based polish remover.

i use a cotton bud soaked in the polish remover, and start at the edges, so the glue comes off. then it's easier to get the polish remover to go beneath the nail.

DONT try pulling them off or biting them, sometimes you have to be patient with them.
Put some nice quality nail polish remover (I like Sally Hansen Double Strength) into a small dish or bowl. Then put your fingers in it, making sure to cover the full nail. Next, rub the nails. A nails brush helps. After a little while, the false nail will become flimsy and will easily slide off. Hope that Helps!
soak in hot water or in some nail plish remorver. they should soften, then once you have ahd them in the water or remover for about 30 minutes, they should be soft enough for you to be able to peal off yourself. good luck!
I just took mine off. You're going to need to soak your nails in acetone based polish remover. The glue under the acrylic should melt and they should slip off easily.
soak your finger tips in acetone remover and they will come right off. ugh. and prepared. your real nails always look like crap when you remove fake nails. have your clippers and file ready.
You can buy remover for them at any drugstore.
The easiest way to get them off is to soak them in some acetone The glue underneath, should come off quite easy.
soak them in nail polish remover for a while or this may hurt a little but bite them so that they split down the middle and come off that way
you get a certain kind of nail polish remover (like the fist answer says)and soak you nail in it than they come right off.
try soaking them in warm/hot water. it loosens them up so its easier to pull them off.
add soda put vinegar clea
Do lots of house work!
just rip them off.
