Soak them in acetone nail polish remover.Whats the best way to get acrylic nails off?
The best way to remove artificial nails is to soak them off in acetone. You can find this at your local Walmart in the nail polish section.

Here's what you'll want to do:

Get a glass bowl and fill it up enough that when you put your fingertips in the bowl it covers to just above your nails. You'll then want to have someone cover the bowl with a towel as acetone is a highly volatile substance and will evaporate quickly. You'll need to soak for 30-40 minutes WITHOUT taking your hands out of the bowl to ';check'; on them. The more times you pull your hands out the longer it will take. Once they have been soaking for at least 30 minutes, while STILL SUBMERGED you'll want to use an orangewood stick to gently push the acrylic down and away from your nails. It helps if you have a buddy that can assist with this. Once you have pushed all the acrylic off, there may be some residual acrylic left on the nails. This can be buffed away with a high grit file, but be careful not to over buff the natural nail.

One tip that can speed up the process:

Acetone will work faster if it is warm, but it is also highly flammable. To heat the acetone, fill a slightly larger bowl than the one you intend to use with hot water, then put your finger bowl in the larger bowl. It will raise the temperature of the acetone enough to speed up the process, but not enough to ignite it.

Hope that helps, I just recently graduated as a nail technician, and I've found that this method works the best. Otherwise, look into a local beauty school, as they have reduced costs for simple services such as this.

Just a note:

It is a common misconception that having artificial nails ';damages'; your nails. If applied properly, there should be no damage done to the natural nail by any enhancement service. To keep nails healthy and growing, it is a good idea to massage what it commonly referred to as the ';cuticle'; each day while you're in the shower. The skin is warm and moist, therefore the ';cuticle'; can easily be pushed back and massaged. Daily application of a cuticle oil will also help.
