Does any one do acrylic nails themselves?

I'm looking to ';cut costs'; and try doing my own acrylic nails with the liquid and powder. Have you had any experience with this? What kind of powder and liquid do you use; in other words, where do you get it from?Does any one do acrylic nails themselves?
Times is hard, but I really don't recommend playing around with acrylics on your own without any proper training.

My reasons:

1. If you don't properly sanitize your nail, you can get a bacterial infections.

2. The monomer (the liquid) has a really strong smell, so if you're not in a well ventilated area, you can get sick from it.

3. If you don't handle the chemicals properly, you can become over exposed to the product and become allergic to all acrylic nail enhancements. (Which means that you wont be able to get your nails done anymore)

It really isn't worth it. If you can't keep up with acrylics, growing your nails out and wearing polish might be a better choice. You can also look into getting gels instead. They're a bit more expensive, but you can go without a fill for about a month (assuming that you take care of them and the tech knows what he/she is doing)Does any one do acrylic nails themselves?
Yes....

My mom did it for me once and they stayed on forever!

Here is a place where you can find the supplies to do them cheap!:
